Chaquan performances

Liu Hongchi is a seventh duan ranking. While not immediately practical for wushu competition performers (it's too exacting and too hard to win points in the traditional category) chaquan has got to be the best looking external style around. It is an excellent style to start out with, as it gives terrific stance basics. It is perfect style to 'retire' to after wushu, as it has less jumps and no acrobatics. I saw Liu Hongchi perform in 2004, and he is anything but retired. He blew everyone away with his stances and footwork, to say nothing of his exacting total skills.
Liu Hongchi and his students perform. So you see a good range of age, body type, and skill possibilities. The forms are flawless and beautiful. The spear form alone is worth the price of the whole vcd.
